15 trafficked children have reunited with their parents

The Abuja(FCT) Police Command has reunited 15 children, who were victims of trafficking, with their parents.

ASP Yusuf Mariam, the spokesperson of the command, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, March 8, saying that the children between the ages of 2-13 years were deceptively taken from their parents in Lapai, Niger State in February 2020, by one Emmanuel Abraham and Nkechi Udoh, under the pretext of providing them education.

Additional questioning discovered that Abraham, 30, and Udoh, 53, gave out the children to different people. The suspects were arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

“In view of the above, the Command is appealing to parents to be extremely conscious of the safety and movement of their children at all times.” ASP Mariam said.

“We enjoin residents to remain calm, law-abiding, comply with all COVID-19 regulations and reiterate our unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property within the FCT.
