13 cybercrime suspects were raided and apprehended on Thursday, by operatives of the Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Five suspects were reportedly picked up at an N8 million per year apartment in Gilmore Estate, Jahi, while the other eight were arrested at Katampe Extension, all in Abuja.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesman released a statement titled, ‘EFCC bursts a syndicate of 13 cybercrime suspects in Abuja,’ said the breakthrough obeyed actionable intelligence on their apparent criminal enterprise.
“Incriminating items recovered from them include iPhones, laptops, gaming consoles, Toyota Avalon and a Lexus SUV.
The suspects have given valuable information and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” it read.
