Buckingham Palace announces the funeral of Prince Philip

The funeral of Prince Philip, the husband to Queen Elizabeth II, will take place at the St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on April 17, Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday.

The ceremony at Windsor, west of London, which will be televised but have no public gathering because of covid19 restrictions, will be preceded by a national minute’s silence.

According to Royal officials, the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh’s grandson, Prince Harry, would attend, but his heavily pregnant wife, Meghan, was advised not to travel from the United States on medical grounds.
